Movies for Mommies

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

This is the sixth year that I, Christie Sondergaard, Agency Director for Heritage Education Funds, am sponsoring Movies for Mommies in Saskatchewan.

I understand that protecting your child's future is of utmost importance to you.

First and foremost, I am the mother of 2 children, Liva (7) and Oliver (5), and wife to Flemming. We started saving for the kids when they were newborns and I am happy to tell you that their plans are growing as I've been preaching to others over the past 7 years how they would be. Not only are they growing, but the Heritage Plans have plenty of flexibility and contribution options to fit our needs. Not only do I save for my children's education with Heritage and I am a dealing representative for Heritage, I also am a product of the RESP. I went to school myself on one and I've seen how the plans have changed over the years. There is so much more flexibility and versatility with the plans today than there was when I went to school. I would never have been able to take the time to study and pay for my education if it wasn't for my parents and the RESP means they provided for me. That's not to say I didn't work or take out a small loan. I did, but the RESP covered more than 3/4 of my total education costs. For this, I am grateful my parents had the insight to make the difference in my life and ultimately, my own children's lives, because I don't have the heavy debt burden that many of my friends have struggled with. If I can help you to see that saving for your child's future (which affects YOUR financial future too) is worth it, perhaps I can make a small difference in your life as well as your children's.

After the initial meeting with me, I can promise that you will be educated and informed about your investment options. My intention is to get to know you and what is most important to you and your family, while earning your trust, providing clarity on your investment choice and giving you an experience that will leave you with peace of mind that saving for your child's future is worth it!

No one plan is best suited for each family. Therefore, I take the time to assess each family's financial situation and make recommendations on what is the most affordable and suitable for you. As your initial goals and plans may change over the years, it is my job to assist you with making changes to your plan so that it continues to fit. Know that you are in good hands and I will do my best to prove that to you.

You may be eligible to receive government grants to help you save. I will determine the various grants you are eligible to receive and apply for them on your behalf. The Canada Education Savings Grant of up to $7200 lifetime max per beneficiary and the Saskatchewan Advantage Grant for Education Savings of max $4500 per beneficiary are examples of some of the grants offered through the registered education savings plan.
By clicking, Get Informed about RESPs, will give you a chance to learn a bit about Heritage prior to talking with me.
